"The Krahenbuhl Family will forever hold the Olson Family in our hearts. I was in 6th grade when Doyle, Joanne, Steve and Jeff moved to S. 7th St. We were next-door neighbors for many years. Our parents socialized together in an easy way that good neighbors do. They’d throw together a cookout after the youngest of their children were in bed. My brother Bob and I babysat many nights. When Doyle was busy going out at night selling insurance, Bob and I would take turns helping Joanne with bathtime in the evening. We’d sit on each other‘s porches and visit for hours. Steve loved to come over and play with our brother John and when Doyle came to get him, he’d always cry. He wanted to stay longer. Bruce was the last of the Olson babies that I took care of. And in summertime I’d find shade on the side of our garage and then ask Joanne if could take Bruce out on the blanket. my sister Peg, and I loved to play with little Brucie. There was always one thing had to be aware of when holding him, he would spit up. that often ended our playtime because he needed a bath and so did we. Diane was born late enough in life that I really only saw her a few times. I was a senior in high school and had discovered the joys of dating. However, I think my sister Peggy enjoyed holding her. Over the years I’ve enjoyed some lovely phone calls with Joanne. It pleased me to be able to stay in touch with her. Our conversation was fun, and we were able to laugh easily with one another. Rest in peace, Joanne."
