John Anthony Cronan IV, age 42, of St. Charles, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025, at his home surrounded by family. He was born on September 25, 1982, in Aurora, Illinois, to Karyn (Rannin) and Jack Cronan.

John was a graduate of St. Charles high school and received a master’s degree from University of Illinois at Springfield with honors. John was employed for 18 years as a Senior Systems Engineer by Charles Schwab. John was extremely intelligent with a great sense of humor. He was a beloved son, brother and was cherished by many friends, family and coworkers. John’s hobbies included computers, bicycling, canoeing, craft brewing and music.

He is survived by his father, Jack Cronan; his siblings, Laura Cronan, James Cronan, and Joseph Cronan, all of St. Charles. He was preceded in death by his mother, Karyn Cronan.

Memorial visitation will be held Friday, July 25 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street (corner of Rt. 64 and Rt. 25), St. Charles.

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, at St. Patrick Crane Road Church, with Father Grant officiating. Inurnment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Geneva, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Anderson Animal Shelter.
