God called John home on January 13, 2022.  John Lawrence Swider, Jr. was born August 26, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois to John Lawrence Swider, Sr. and Delores Swider.

John is survived by three children, Jessica (Olivier Tardif-Drolet) Swider, John “Josh” (Jessica) Swider III and Jackie Swider, a granddaughter, Liana Drolet, his mother, Delores, a brother, Michael (Nancy) Swider and a sister, Nancy (Jeff Peltz) Swider-Peltz, Sr.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Lawrence Swider, Sr.

John was talented in many aspects of his life. He was a successful entrepreneur with an extraordinary work ethic.  He loved building things.  Prior to his career in construction, he was in the school system as a dean of students.

His children were his biggest passion.  He especially loved attending their athletic activities and was so proud of them. John was fiercely competitive.  He was a three sport college athlete at Wheaton College. He continued to support the College by regularly attending football games and other various activities.

John impacted everybody he met with his infectious personality.   He was a man of faith.  He will be deeply missed.

Memorial service will be held 11:30AM, Saturday, January 22nd at Chapelstreet Church, 3435 Keslinger Road, Geneva, Illinois.
