John “Jack” P. Teresinski, 79 years old, died at his home in South Elgin under the care of his family and JourneyCare Hospice on December 12, 2018.  Jack was born January 14th, 1939 in Spruce, WI to John and Alberta Teresinski.  On January 15, 1966 Jack married the love of his life, Ellie Baeten Teresinski and they shared nearly 53 years together.

Jack served in the United States Air Force from 1957-1961, attaining the rank of Airman 1st class.

Jack attended Wrightstown High School and Janesville Technical School where he received his FAA certification which lead to a 36 1/2 year career as an aircraft mechanic and maintenance supervisor with United Airlines.  He was a member of St John Neumann Church.  Jack loved spending time with his friends, traveling, golfing, going on many fishing trips, loved to dance polkas, and watching his beloved Green Bay Packers.  Ellie and Jack enjoyed wintering in Fort Myers, FL, where they have made many devoted friendships which has added to their large circle of long-lasting friendships.

At the heart of Jack’s life was his family. Every weekend was full of watching activities that his children and then later, grandchildren were involved in.  He was always their biggest fan.  He did all of this despite the challenges of living with Parkinson’s Disease.  He was truly his families’ hero.

Jack is survived by his spouse, Ellie (Baeten) Teresinski; Children John (Kathy) Teresinski, Sheila (Frank) Gatz, and Brian (Barrie) Teresinski; Grandchildren Joseph, Jamie, Michael Gatz, Lexi and Sydney Teresinski.  Siblings Shirley (Jerry) Skaletski, Allen Teresinski, Raymond (Margaret) Teresinski, Barbara Teresinski, Mary Matuszak, Tom Teresinski, and Jean Solfest and many nieces and nephews.  Jack was preceded in death by his parents John and Alberta Teresinski, and siblings Alice Gannon, Melvin Teresinski, and Joseph Teresinski.

Visitation services will be held Sunday, December 16 at Yurs Funeral Home 405 East Main St, St. Charles from 3pm-7pm.

Funeral Mass will be held Monday, December 17 at St, John Neumann Church 2900 East Main St, St Charles, IL at 10:30am.  There will be an hour visitation before Mass at the church.  Burial will be private at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to be made to JourneyCare All About Kids  405 Lake Zurich Rd, Barrington, IL  60010.  Jack’s family sends their heartfelt appreciation to Journey Care Hospice for all of their kindness and wonderful care.
