Josephine (Sue) Zobjeck died Friday, April 14, 2023.  She was profoundly loved by her husband, child, and grandchildren as well as their families.

Josephine was born on May 19, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois.

She later moved to St. Charles to raise a family and pursue her career. In addition to being a loving wife and mother, she had a long career as a senior project analyst with IBM. She was extremely active with sports and had many hobbies.

During her life, she battled with diabetes.  In 1997, she received a transplant for her kidney and pancreas.  After receiving a groundbreaking surgical transplant procedure, Josephine went on to become Rush Hospital’s longest living transplant recipient. This was a testament to her strength, undying positivity, and love for life.  Her positivity was contagious to everyone around her.

Her survivors include husband Allen Zobjeck, son Chris (Megan) Jones, grandchildren Elle and Brody, brother Herb (Joyce) Townsend, and sister JoAnne Simonis.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with a brief service beginning at 7:00 P.M.  The visitation will take place at Yurs Funeral Home of St. Charles, 405 East Main Street (Corner of Rt. 64 and Rt. 25), St. Charles, Illinois 60174.

"Our deepest sympathy goes out to Al and his family. We cherish our 32 years of friendship as a next door neighbor, distant friend and reconnection when we moved back to the area. I will miss our chats about sports and updates on her son his wife and grandchildren who she was so proud of. She was very generous always opening her home to her friends and extended family. Our gatherings were always fun and full of laughs. Her health struggles have been tremendous and she took those on with many ups and downs. She will always have a special place in our hearts. May she rest in peace."

"Dear Al & family, We just learned of Suzie’s passing… We are so very sorry, and more heartbroken as this reality settles in my heart. It was lovely working with her at OAG - she was such a kind and upbeat person, always with a good word and ready smile. And she was happy to stay in touch, even though distantly, all these years. This earth is a sadder place without her. RIP my friend :)"

Daniel Pellegrini from TINLEY PARK, IL

"Al, I'm so sorry to read that Sue had passed away. She was an integral part of our high school group through the early-mid 1960's and an incredibly pleasant person to be with. Always a smile despite the medical adversities she endured throughout her life. She will forever remain in our prayers. Dan & Linda"
