Joyce Ann (Joiner) Jones left this earth to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 13, 2025.

Joyce was born on January 22, 1940, to Lucy and Clarence Joiner, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She was the fifth of six children. In 1954, she and her family moved to Elgin, Illinois. On June 21, 1958, she married James Leroy Jones. They had three daughters, Kathy Ann (1961), Sheila Kay (Jones) Weathers (1963), and Cindy Lanay (Jones) Lumbert (1965). In 1990, she officially became a “Mamma” to Bethany Lanay (Weathers) Netsova, and in 2019, she became a “MomMom” to Lucy Ann Netsova.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Lucy and Clarence Joiner, brothers Winfred, Burl, Jerry, Ronald, and her daughter Kathy. She is survived by her husband, James, her daughters, Sheila and Cindy, her son-in-law, Vern Lumbert, her granddaughter, Bethany, her grandson-in-law, Mihail “Michael” Netsov, her great-granddaughter, Lucy, and her sister, Nancy Jo (Joiner) Horn.

Joyce always loved being around her family and friends. They were second in importance only to her faith. A Christ-follower her entire life, she always started each day by reading her Bible and praying over her family. An avid musician, she played multiple instruments and loved to Sing. Her favorite things to play and sing were hymns and bluegrass music.

While her family feels tremendous grief by her loss, they take comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering and in pain but instead resting peacefully in the arms of Jesus.

Visitation will be held at Yurs Funeral Home at 405 E Main St, St. Charles, IL 60174 on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, from 5-8pm. Funeral services will be held at Yurs Funeral Home on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 11am.
