Katherine Anne (Parkinson) Sandquist, 41 of St. Charles, IL, died unexpectedly Thursday, October 14, 2021. She was deeply loved by her husband, parents, brothers and sister, family, friends and all the wagging tails of animals she rescued and loved.

The daughter of John Edward and Karen Anne Parkinson, Katherine (Kate) was born on February 4, 1980 in Chicago. On July 7, 2012 she married Justin Sandquist.

Survived by her parents John and Karen Parkinson, brothers David and Brian Parkinson and sister Susan Berner (Parkinson) and her four fury babies: Otis, Rita, Huck and Bubby.

A graduate of Glenbard East High School (1998), Kate was a competitive softball and basketball player. Her infectious and positive attitude was obvious to those around her, both on and off the field. She had become a proud vegetable gardener, a hard worker and a dedicated animal lover. Kate was a great friend, touching the lives of so many people, simply by living each day by her own motto: Live. Love. Laugh.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, from 2-5:00 P.M. at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E Main Street in St. Charles, IL 60174. A Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 5:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Yurs Funeral Home, St. Charles. Join family and friends for a celebration of life on Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 12-3:00 P.M. at Alley 64, 212 Main Street in St. Charles.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Awareness Association, a cause that was close to Kate’s heart.
