Derrik Heinzen from North Chicago, IL
"We are deeply sorry about the loss of Kevin. I am the Electric Shop Supervisor at the North Chicago VA hospital (James A Lovell). Kevin was attached to the Electric Shop as part of his rehabilitation program, and he was a huge help who was always willing to learn something new. It was truly a pleasure working with Kevin for the last 5 months, he was well liked by everyone. I do have a picture of him with a newspaper write up about some of the electrical work he did while he was attached to the shop, I will leave my e-mail at the bottom if anyone would want a copy of it. We will remember Kevin in many positive ways- with a big smile, a great sense of humor and always for his great stories.Condolences to the family in these hard times,Derrik Heinzen"
Jose N Harris from Aurora, IL
"I met Kevin in North Chicago in 2019. We were there with other veterans who had struggles with PTSD. Kevin was my roommate and he was an awesome man. My condolences to his family. Kevin and another Marine (Joel) and I had often talked about traveling together to visit Asia and scuba dive and just enjoy life more. Sadly, both of their lives have now been cut short. I made it here by myself, to the Philippines and a day doesn’t go by that I don’t think of you, Kevin! Semper Fi! -Jose N Harris US Army Special Forces (Veteran)"
