Kim Alan Fosse passed away unexpectedly on Christmas morning at his home in Naperville. He was 65 years old. Kim was born on August 22, 1957 in Moline, Illinois, the third of four children of George and Marilyn Fosse. He graduated from St. Charles High School in 1975 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Aurora University in 1981.

Kim worked in retail sales for Gem Craft Jewelers in Geneva and The Sharper Image but he spent most of his career as a sales associate and systems technician for Ameritech and AT&T. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

Kim married the love of his life, Cindy Jankowski, on August 16, 1995, in Las Vegas, and their years together were filled with fun, family and adventure until her passing in 2013.

Kim was a humorist who was able to make people of all ages laugh with his dry sense of humor and impressions. He loved road trips with Cindy, always with their pug Buttercup in tow, and spending time with their extended families and friends. He enjoyed watching sports and attending games, and he was a passionate fan of Chicago’s sports teams, especially the Cubs. He also had an affection for many of the classic sit-com television shows from the ‘60s and ’70s. But most of all, Kim was a kind-hearted and compassionate man and a loyal friend to many.

Kim was preceded in death by his wife Cindy, parents George and Marilyn, brother Kenton Fosse, parents-in-law Walter and Lydia Jankowski, and sister-in-law Katherine (Katie) Fosse.

He is survived by his brother Kevin Fosse of Colorado, sister Lisa Fosse of St. Charles, sisters-in-law Debbie (John) Bold of Wheaton and Patti Jans of Arizona, nieces Kendall (Jack) Miner and Kourtney (Jonathan) Huckins of Colorado, nephews Andy (Marie) Bold of Arizona and Matt (Erin) Bold of Bartlett, and his canine companion, pug Jelly Bean.

Visitation will be 10:30am-12:00pm on Saturday, January 7th at Yurs Funeral Home in St. Charles followed by a Celebration of Life service at 12:00pm. Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.

Condolences

Larry Blake from Mesa, AZ

"So sorry for your loss. I´ve known Kim for about 40 years and he was a great friend of mine. I will miss his phone calls and his crazy sense of humor. He should have been a comedian. I enjoyed going to Cubs games with him as well pizza and beers. I remember how he drove the workers at McDonald´s crazy by always ordering the hamburger with nothing on it. We´ve shared so many great memories. I feel like I lost a brother and there never will be another one like you!"

Caroline (Carlson) Olinger from Batavia, IL

"Our family is deeply saddened by the passing of Kim. The memories of his smile and humor were legendary in the neighborhood and throughout his life. Will miss seeing him at the Carlson Open and Rays in STC where on one recollection he would bring a full size phone receiver attached to a battery pack as his “cell” phone…that was Kim."

Michael Lebrun from Riverside, CA

"I am Mike Lebrun Kim's causin from California. I am very saddened hearing of Kim's passing. I am sorry I could not attend the memorial . I remember in our youth our families would get together To celebrate our Birthdays together as we were the same age I remember the last visit we had is when he came to California in the mid 1980s. he was able to attend one of my bands rehearsal. We had a great time.I will always remember his humor smile and laughter. He will be missed."

Chuck Nystrom from Fort Myers , FL

"Kevin & Lisa, I am so sad and sorry for the sudden loss of Kim. We lived a lot of this life together and he was my dear friend for over 50 yrs. No matter where he was or how he was doing himself, he always made a point to ask how you were doing, before you could even ask him. We laughed a lot together and we cried a lot too, helping each other get through some pretty rough days when we each lost our wives about a decade ago. His quick wit and dry sense of humor was like no other! Everyone who knew him can tell countless stories of this, it was literally non-stop whenever you were with him. I hope he is resting in peace and as time passes, the memories will always be the warm and fun ones of better days with our dear Kim. We will miss him immensely! Chuck and Karen"
