Larry was the son of Julian (Joe) and Florence Verhaeghe. He was born on July 28th 1945 Larry was a life-long resident of St. Charles and grew up on the Verhaeghe family farm property where his parents built their home. Larry was always smiling, up-beat and ready with the phrase “how you doing”.  He was never a complainer, even during  his cancer treatments. Larry enjoyed roller skating at the Aurora Skate Center, maintaining his yard and mowing the lawn.  He loved feeding the birds and sitting outside in the sun watching and listening to them.  He was a regular at several area restaurants and loved a good meal and visiting with the restaurant “regulars”.  Larry was a life-long member of the Aurora Seventh-Day Adventist Church.  He was strong in his faith and belief in prayer and God till the end.

"We met Larry in about 2004 at a Christmas party. He was cleaning houses then and we hired him to help us with our large Victorian house. Larry was a wonder! And always cheerful and happy. We would often have lunch together while he worked at our home! He attended many of our parties and he was always the best dressed man in the room. We sold the house in 2014 and parted ways…He still brings a smile to me face today…rest in peace Larry"

"I am so sorry for your loss. Larry was an amazing man. I would see him quite often. One time my family was at Lumes restaurant and he got to meet my husband and son. He learned that my husband collects the small scaled John Deere tractors. When Larry would see me he would tell me he found another tractor and I would say "nope" he has engough. Larry thought it was funny to ask me to tell my husband about his tractor finds. I enjoyed his stories about his life and his love of nice/expensive clothing. I will miss Larry dearly."
