Leonard P. Krystal, 81, of St. Charles, IL passed away peacefully at home on Dec 23th with family by his side.
He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard J. Krystal and Mildred Krystal.
He is survived by his wife Isabel Marie Krystal, brother Ray James Krystal (Gloria), Sons Leonard David (Laura), Robert Richard, Paul Edward (Jody), daughter Veronica Elizabeth (Jon), grandchildren Tyler (Kalie), Sam, Mackenzie, Molly, Morgan, Harrison, Edward, and great-grandson Owen.
Len grew up in Chicago working at Johnny Q’s Pizzeria, Mr. Softy ice cream truck and summers at the Milwaukee Railroad with his father. He went to De La Salle High School and graduated from DeVry Technical Institute with an Electrical Engineering degree. He met his wife Isabel Marie Krystal in Chicago. They were neighbors on Franklin Blvd in Chicago and were married for 58 years. They moved from Chicago to St. Charles in 1972 when Len transferred to Fischer Industries in Geneva where he worked as an Electrical Engineer making X-Ray film processing machines until he retired. After retiring, he worked part time at Mar-Fre Manufacturing Company in St. Charles, IL as a Design Engineer. He enjoyed older cars and their differences. He once owned a 69’ Dodge Coronet R/T and a 61’ Oldsmobile.
Visitation will be 4-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Yurs Funeral Home 405 E. Main Street, St. Charles, Illinois 60174. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 28, 2023 at St John Neumann Catholic Church 2900 E. Main St, St. Charles, Illinois 60174.
