Linda Barton, age 74, of Batavia, IL, formerly of Westmont, IL, went to be with the Lord 03/23/2022. She was born to Ray and LaVerne Blakemore, in Hinsdale. She married her loving husband, George Barton, in June of 1966 and shortly after he was drafted by the Army to serve his country in Vietnam.   Linda graduated from Hinsdale Central High School.  She is survived by her husband George, daughter Michelle (Dan) Nawa of Plainfield, IL, son Jason (Erin) Barton of Geneva, IL, sister Diane (Sol) Pelavin of Potomac, MD, five wonderful grandchildren Julia Nawa, Maggie Nawa, Mallory Barton, Abby Nawa and Ben Barton, brother-in-law, Willliam (Ginger) Barton, brother-in-law, Phil Sollami, uncle, Kenneth Roush and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Linda spent much of her working career within the Westmont School district in various roles such as a Lunch Aide, Nurse’s Aide and Administrative work at Westmont High School.  She later worked part time at their family business, Barton Staffing.  She enjoyed vacationing in Florida and the Virgin Islands, spending time with family (especially babysitting for her 5 grandchildren in their early years) and dancing and singing to Adele.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held from 10 A.M. – 2 P.M. on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main Street, St. Charles, IL  60174 (Visitation 10 A.M. – 1 P.M. and Service 1 P.M. – 2 P.M.).  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
