Obituaries

Linda Shaw passed away peacefully on January 9, 2023, at the age of 94. She was the only child of Ralph & Hilda Ross of Ravenna, Ohio. She graduated from Kent State University where her maternal grandparents owned land where the first buildings of the university were built on. She was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority where she served as president her senior year. She married James Shaw of Akron, Ohio in 1951 and they moved to Geneva in 1953.  She was a member of the St. Charles Country Club, where she loved playing golf and bridge, for sixty-four years. She was an avid Duplicate Bridge player and secured her Life Masters Status as well as receiving the silver award. She started her own business in 1975 where she bought, furnished, and sold condos around Water Tower Place in Downtown Chicago. Linda and Jim spent many winters at The Landings in Savannah, Georgia. She then moved to Naples, Florida for the winter after her husband passed away in 2007.

She is survived by her 4 children; Clay (Kim) Shaw, Debbie Totten, Brett Shaw, and Scott Shaw, 5 grandchildren; Coby (Crystal) Shaw, Casey (Lindsay) Shaw, Kendra (Don) Seymour, Ross (Ady) Totten, Christina (Chris) Ourganian, and 8 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Visitation is planned for late Spring 2023. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Delnor Northwestern Hospital in Geneva, Illinois.
