Lois M. Ekstrom, formerly of Wasco, more recently of River Glen in St. Charles, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025. Born in St. Charles, IL October 22, 1924. Daughter of Clifford and Edna (Bloomquist) Johnson.

She was baptized January 25, 1925, at Bethlehem Lutheran church in St Charles by Rev Ekstrom.

She attended St Charles schools and graduated from St Charles High School on June 5, 1942.

She married Harold P Ekstrom on June 25, 1949, at Bethlehem Lutheran church, by Rev Ekstrom. They made their home in Wasco, IL.

Lois is survived by two sons,  Paul of Aurora, IL, Tom and his wife Theresa of Antioch, IL. Four grandchildren, David (Mendie Rushani), Steven (Elizabeth), Joseph (Brittany), Mary Strong  (Jake). Great Grand Daughter Abidina Grace (Abbey), Great Grandsons, Nathan James, Noah Thomas, Colin Matthew, Jonah Steven, Lucas John (Luke-Strong) and William Paul (Liam -Strong). One Nephew Mark (Mary – Johnson), two nieces, Cara (John – Green), and Amy (Bill – Conway).

She was a member of the former Wasco American Legion Auxiliary, the Wasco Ladies Aid, and a lifetime member of the Bethlehem Lutheran St. Charles. Active in the Ruth Circle.

Preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold, one brother Donald C Johnson, a baby daughter Elizabeth Ann, and daughter-in-law, Catherine Ekstrom.

Funeral services will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1145 N 5th Ave, St. Charles, on Monday, December 22. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. with the service to follow. Burial will be held at Whitney Cemetery. A luncheon for all to follow the burial at Old Towne Pub and Eatery in Wasco, IL.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Lois’ name can be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1145 N 5th Ave, St. Charles, Illinois 60174.
