Louise L. Veselka age 99, died Tuesday, June 22, 2021 in the presence of a loving family member. She was greatly loved by her husband, children, grand-children, great-grandchildren and their families.

The daughter of  Joseph and Louise Fiala was born on December 3, 1921 into a loving family in Chicago. She was a graduate of Morton H.S. in Cicero, Illinois. She then attended business school, became a comptometer operator and worked at Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Co. She married Richard R. Veselka at Holy Mount Catholic Church, in Cicero. In 1953, they moved to Berwyn where they raised their five children. They were active members of St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church in Cicero where Louise served in the Woman’s Guild and was active in the Boy Scouts of America.

Louise was a warm and gracious person who was a great listener, had a strong faith in God, was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed family and friends. She leaves a legacy of love to all who knew her.

She is survived by her five children: Joseph R. (Mary Kay) Veselka, Louise M. (Donald) Kruse, Mary Ellen (Jeffrey) Metz, Richard S. (Suzanne) Veselka, Thomas D. Veselka and fourteen grandchildren: Michael (Jill) Veselka, Daniel Veselka, Joseph (Ryan Slattery) Veselka,  Jeffrey Veselka, Katherine (fiancé Luis Leguizamon) Kruse, Thomas (Jennifer) Kruse, Scott Kruse, Laura (Michael) Naughton, Mark Metz, Tim Veselka, Kevin Veselka, Nicholas (Rebecca) Veselka, Sara (Rahul) Chabra and Christopher Veselka. She also has seven great-grandchildren: Emery Kruse, Theo Kruse, Emily Naughton, Jack Veselka, Brooke Veselka, Dev, Chabra and Neel Chabra.

She was preceded in death by loving husband Richard, sister Anna Fiala, and daughter-in-law Sandra Veselka.

The visitation will be on Monday, June 28, 2021 from 4-8:00 P.M. at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main Street, St. Charles, Illinois.

The Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday,  June 29, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 406 Walnut Street, Yorkville, Illinois.

The burial will be at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois. Contributions may be made to Catholic Charities.
