Marce passed away at The Grove in St. Charles on Sunday, November 24th, 2024. She was born on July 15th, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois, to Celia and Stanley Holtz. She attended Our Lady of Good Counsel in Chicago and received her Associate’s Degree from Elgin Community College. She was a devout Roman Catholic and a member of St. Patrick’s and St. John Neumann’s Parish in St. Charles.

In her early years, she spent her time raising her children and enjoying suburban life in Batavia, Illinois, ultimately moving to St. Charles, Illinois. She became a realtor in the Fox Valley from the 60s through 2018 owning her real estate company ERA Van Realty and eventually retiring from Coldwell Banker in Geneva.

Marce’s contributions to St. Charles and the Fox Valley are numerous. She was the first woman St. Charles Chamber of Commerce President, a Charlemagne award recipient, Kiwanis Treasurer, President of the Fox Valley Board of Realtors, President of Zonta International – Fox Valley, Zonta International Governor, and President of the Pottawattamie Garden Club, to name a few of her contributions. She was a passionate lifelong volunteer in the Fox Valley. You can witness her eye for natural beauty and love of gardening along the St. Charles downtown bridge, which she started through the Pottawatomie Garden Club in collaboration with the City of St. Charles.

She is survived by her son, William Van Glabek, and his wife Joan of Marco Island, Florida. Christine Moffett, daughter, and husband Todd of Port Charlotte, Florida, and granddaughter Maggie Moffett of Englewood, Florida.
