On the coldest night of the winter, January 25, 2022, Margaret Mary Hoepfner (nee Thompson) slipped her earthly bonds to touch the face of God.
Maggie was born August 9th, 1985 in Louisville KY and lived in Champaign-Urbana IL, Staatsburg NY, and Charlotte NC before settling in the Geneva/St. Charles area. Maggie’s four beloved children, Henry, Dean and Gwen Hoepfner and Mary Jane Othon, and her two brothers, Jake and Will Thompson, were the sun, moon and stars in her sky. She created a beautifully woven fabric of family and friends; parents Jim and Trish Thompson, grandparents Sharon Oskielunas and Don & Doris Thompson, former husband Nick Hoepfner, fiancée George Othon, 16 aunts and uncles, 31 cousins too gloriously numerable to name, sister-in law Mia, and one wee niece, Lucy. Gone before is her dear grandfather, Adam Oskielunas. She loved music, dancing, laughing, giving gifts, baking, entertaining, writing, reading, walks, dogs and softball. Though silent now, her voice was angel-song. She loved the beach and spent many memorable hours with family soaking up the sun at her grandparents’ house in Pentwater, Michigan. Unceasingly kind and generous, she was an empath and a friend to so many on her journey with us. She was remarkably sweet and caring to all. Everyone who knew her loved her. The large and loving Othon family welcomed Maggie into their warm embrace and gave her life great joy. Following Maggie’s example and in lieu of flowers or contributions, please “Shower the people you love with love. Show them the way that you feel.” —Visitation will be at 1pm, followed by a Service of Thanksgiving at 2pm, Monday, January 31 at the Congregational United Church of Christ, 42W450 Fox Mill Blvd., St. Charles IL

May the love of God swaddle you and give you peace.- Jennifer Nenni"
