Marian Lazzara, age 65, of St. Charles passed away Friday, December 15, 2017 at Delnor Hospital in Geneva.
She was born November 3, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois and her parents were Michael and Laura Lazzara.
For people fortunate enough to call Marian a friend or co-worker at a dog club or a show, we know that she was dedicated and hard working. However, Marian was private and in the background not one to be in the spotlight. People may not have noticed her as they interacted at work, dog shows and trials even though Marian was one of the hardest worker bees.
Marian has been a dedicated dog show exhibitor for over 40 years, having owned and trained Pomeranians (Poms). She has had a conformation Grand Champion and many others pointed. Marian also earned so many Obedience titles it is hard to track and she has helped others to do the same. Marian was an outstanding steward for the obedience ring for multiple breeds.
Marian was a Life Member of the APC- American Pomeranian Club and had been with this group since 1975 as well Pom clubs in Indiana and Iowa. Marian and her sister, Loretta, both belong and have become Life Members of the Chicagoland Shetland Sheepdog Club joining in 1979 and Fox Valley Training Club joining in 1991 and had belonged to Westside Dog Training Club. Marian has been a hardworking dog show club committee member and also been an officer or board member numerous times.
Ms. Lazzara is survived by her sister, Loretta Lazzara and numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She was preceded in death her parents.
If a good life is measured in how many people cared for Marian, she lived a great life as quoted by a friend.
Funeral mass will be held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, December 19th St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2900 East Main Street, St. Charles. Interment will be private at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside. Visitation will be Monday from 4-8:00 P.M. at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, St. Charles. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family. "Our deepest condolences to you, Loretta, on the loss of your twin sister, Marian.Knowing you both since 1986 has been a blessing to Len and I. The many times we did 'grooming picnics' in the backyard. The many times we just hung out and ate or the holiday dinners along with my mom, Rose.As we remember all the good times I know it wrapped us in warm feelings. We'll be with you as it has been always. In loving friendship, Len and Linda"
Vicky Leitner from Waltonville, IL
"Loretta, I want to extend my sincere condolences. Marian will be remembered fondly. She was such a good human being - always helpful to others. I shall always be grateful for the time and attention she gave my Pom, Jason. Her compassion and devotion to her special calling was unsurpassed. I will be thinking of you in the days to come and pray for God's strength to see you through."
Ashleigh Colyer from Normal, IL
"My heart goes out to you, Loretta, for the loss of Marian. You are both like family to me because I have known you for so much of my life and you both helped me train and compete with my beloved Sabrina when I was younger. When I think of Sabrina, I think of you and Marian, and I remember all the great afternoons spent training in the backyard and the world of dog training you both introduced me to. Those are things I will hold on to forever. I cannot imagine how difficult this must be, but remembering all the good times will make it hurt a little bit less. ❤ All my love, Ashleigh"
