Marjorie A. Johnson (nee Linder) was born May 25, 1941, and was a sixth-generation St. Charles, IL native. She passed away at home on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Margie graduated with the proud class of 1959 from St. Charles High School. November 7, 1959, she married Les Johnson, and they had four children. Margie, an independent and spirited person, enjoyed a variety of careers. Most notable was her time as an investigator with the Cook County Sheriff’s Police, where she received medals for firearms competitions and worked on several interesting cases. In her retirement, she enjoyed traveling, gardening, and held positions in District 303, as well as working as a church secretary with the Congregational United Church of Christ. She served on several committees of the Illinois Conference of the UCC. She enjoyed singing in the choir, the Women’s Fellowship Group, and was passionate about its family camp programs. She was most proud of her family and was lovingly vested in their activities and accomplishments.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Mary Jane Linder, and her father, Jack Hogan. She will be missed by many, including her beloved husband, Les; children Sue(Brett) Prigge, Trey(Lisa) Johnson, Kathy(Brian) Wegley, and Pam(Richard) Stadler; her 11 precious grandchildren; Ryan(Taylor), Kelly, Brett, Nick Johnson, Corine(Adam) Long, Rob(Kristy) Wegley, Bailey Cross-Michaelsen (Joe) Bryanna(Dillan) Brow, Alex, Sam, and Mikayla Prigge, as well as six great-grandchildren Jakob, Myah, Lexi, Henry, Thomas, and Theodore, and her loving brother Michael Linder.

Due to COVID restrictions, a private funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 18th at Yurs Funeral Home in St. Charles.  The live zoom meeting number is “965 2201 6649” and the password is “Johnson”.  Burial will be at Garfield Cemetery, Campton Hills.

I later found out her daughter Pamela who was a our mail delivery person went to school with our son. She was a fun person with great stories she shared of her time working for the Cook County Sheriffs Department. She was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed by all who knew her."
