Mary Grace Stilling (Murphy) passed away peacefully on January 27, 2019 at Delnor Hospital. Born July 28, 1927 in Cook County, she was a devout Irish Catholic. Mary Grace married her loving husband, Robert G. Stilling, in 1947. Together, they raised three children in Carpentersville and later moved to Elgin. She was a doting grandparent who enjoyed special moments with her grandchildren during sleepovers, shopping trips and holidays. In her later years, Mary Grace found new friendships and developed a new zest for life at her independent living facility, The Reserve in Geneva. She is survived by her brother Hugh Murphy; her children, Judith (Richard) Kuhlmann, James (Barbara) Stilling and Janet (Timothy) Vance; grandchildren, Jennifer (Scott) DeBernardo, Julie (Chad) Franckowiak, Jason (Jennifer) Kuhlmann, Richard (Elizabeth) Kuhlmann, Ryan (Christopher) Marren, Blair (Timothy) Stilling, Eric Vance and Patrick Vance; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert G. Stilling (deceased October 23, 2010); her parents; and a brother, Ed Murphy. The funeral Mass for Mary Grace, 91, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 6N491 Crane Road, St. Charles. Visitation will be from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Thursday Feb. 7 at the church.
