Maurice Russell Sanborn, age 90, of Elburn passed away Monday, January 24, 2022 at Delnor Hospital in Geneva.
He was born July 4, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois to Maurice Bishop Sanborn and Esther (Nee Holm) Sanborn.
He enlisted in the United State Air Force during the Korean War and became an air traffic controller as a career.
Mr. Sanborn is survived by his wife 62 years, Mary Ann, three children, Walter (Arlene) Sanborn, Allen (Polly) Sanborn and Susan (Daniel) Sills, a granddaughter, Mallory Sills and his faithful dog, Rufus.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Gloria Sanborn and Iola Sheldon.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the USO or the Salvation Army.
