May-Britt Larson loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2024. She was 88. May-Britt was born in Ockelbo, Sweden She moved to US when she was 18 on her own and met her husband of 57 years of marriage, Sigurd in Rockford, IL. They went on to have two children and five grandchildren, eventually settling in St. Charles, Illinois. Then moving up to the great north woods of Minocqua, Wisconsin area in their retirement years.
Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing May-Britt will remember her friendly and all smiles personality. She was engaging, warm, and sincere in her communication always. Even as a young girl May-Britt had a passion to make things fun and laughing often. Throughout her years as a mother, she always supported her children and grandchildren through sports and other activity throughout school and church.
May-Britt loved to travel back to Sweden with her family and did so many times over the years, bring together the entire family, including her parents and four siblings still in Sweden at the time and it was always a fun gathering. Whether going to church Sunday morning or attending a party, she always brought her famous Swedish Cookies for everyone to enjoy, these were her way of saying I love you.
May-Britt is survived by her sons, Brian & Kurt, daughter-in law Sherry, daughter-in law Ruth and grandchildren Erik, Brett, Rachel, Kelly & Sabrina.
Above all else, May-Britt was a loving wife, compassionate mother, and devoted grandmother, always dedicating her time, energy, and commitment to her family. Her family finds comfort in knowing she is with her beloved husband, Sigurd. Both are sincerely missed. For further information call Yurs Funeral Home 630-584-0060

"So many wonderful memories. Famous hospitality with Swedish food. Worked at Colsons Dept Store and Gift Box. Came to live in Rockford Il where she met and married Sigurd. Fun and faithful friend."
Pat and Craig Anderson from Tucson, AZ
"Pat and Craig have many memories but the most memorable was the trip to Okelbo Sweden with three other couples to visit May Britt and Sig in May Britts home town. We met her family and found them to be very hospitable and May acted as our translator and tour guide. Pat also remembers all the Christmas baking of cookies and breads and treasures the recipes. All baked goods of course shared. May Britts family, especially grandchildren, were all very special to her and we heard numerous stories. Rest May; Pat and Craig"

Anne Lee from St. Charles, IL
"I have so many good memories of our days with May-Britt and Sig Larson, but what comes to mind, especially, is May-Britt’s unique ability to make and share baked good. Since I long coveted May-Britt’s large baking board, handcrafted by Sig, my husband, Vic, ordered one from him as a Christmas gift for me in 1993, when we moved into our new house. I made Swedish Limpa two days ago on this board and thought about May-Britt. Nobody created delicious food like May-Britt, and nobody I ever knew ever tried to copy her; we simply enjoyed her hospitality! It was an honor to share part of this afternoon (12/14) with all of you. May-Britt has lived a full life; she is now at peace. I wish you all comfort and peace in the days ahead. Your mother and grandmother will be greatly missed. Love from Anne Lee"
