He is survived by wife Jennifer (Ney), Jen’s children, Ashley Ney and Treyvor Ney, whom Mike took into his heart and life as his own children, and to whom he was a father for all the years he knew them. Mike is also survived by his brother, William LaPrise (Cindy), and two sisters, Catherine O’Rahilly (Patrick) and Leslie LaPrise and by his nieces and nephews, Jessica Lang, Laura Sutton, Kristen LaPrise, Daniel LaPrise, Colin Lang and Christian Lang.

"Mike, It was a complete shock for me to hear the news and I couldn't believe that I'd never get the call again starting with "What's up Rockstar!" I always appreciated your opinion, your tenacity of reaching to be the best, and the conversations that would start on one subject and completely be on a different tangent by the end of it. You were as unique as the come and never afraid to speak up- I respected that of you. As both your coworker and friend I will definitely miss you. Jen- my condolences on your loss- I heard so much about you and know that Michael loved you to the depth of his being. Rest in Peace Laprise!"

"I was so incredibly sad to hear of Michael's passing, I just helped Michael and Jen buy and home and Michael was the kindest guy, and he was so excited for this new home he and Jen were moving into. He must have called me multiple times per week and I could always tell the excitement in his voice. It just breaks my heart to hear this. Jen and family, I wish there was something I could say or do. Michael was an awesome guy."
