Nancy Carol Hoban, age 79, of Aurora died peacefully Monday, December 25, of natural causes in Presence Mercy Medical Center in Aurora with her family present.
She was born October 24th, 1938 in Elgin, Illinois.

She worked as a homemaker attending to her six children and did volunteer work for the communities working at food pantries and Survivors of Suicide in which she appeared on the History Channel. She spent most of her life helping others and lived in North Carolina attending to the needs of her son John after a terrible accident and helped to raise his boys. Nancy had an infectious laugh and a terrific sense of humor no matter how difficult life’s trials became. She was loved by many people who she touched as she could laugh at herself with a great story.
She is survived by Katherine Grimes, Mary (Ralph) Hoban-Martinez, Frank (Jane) Hoban, Christopher (Dawn) Hoban, John (sons Bradley and David) Hoban, a very special great niece Paige (Rich) Charhut, twelve grandchildren and seven great grand children and one loving cat Gizmo.
She is preceded in death by her parents Frank Clifford Wait and Alice Catherine (Gavin) Wait; her husband Gerald Donald Hoban, the love of her life; her toddler son Martin “Po”; her brother Frank Wait; and her brother Richard Wait. She was also preceded in death by a very special niece, Carol Ann Torok who she viewed as a daughter and lastly, her beloved cat Bitsy.
