Nathaniel Sabel, 21, of St. Charles, died August 30, 2021.
He was born August 3, 2000, in Winfield, Illinois, the son of James and Michelle Sabel.
He was a graduate of St Charles East High School Class of 2019. He was a band member playing the saxophone starting in the fifth grade through his senior year. He began his junior year at Northern Illinois University working toward a double major in Computer Science and Math degrees, subjects that he excelled and loved. He was a member of the St. John Neumann’s Boy Scout Troop #33 and attained his Eagle Scout rank in August of 2019. Most recently, he had been employed by McDonald’s on the east side of St. Charles since his high school days.
Beside his parents he is survived by his two siblings, Brandon and Viola Sabel, his paternal grandfather, James Sabel, and maternal grandparents, Anthony and Marilyn Benson, also, maternal great-grandmothers, Margaret Benson and Joan Joiner, both of St. Charles, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Virginia Sabel, Carpentersville, Illinois, paternal great-grandparents, Raymond and Viola Sabel, Elmhurst, Illinois, Ernest and Norma Noyce, Bandon, Oregon, maternal great-grandfathers, Harry Benson of St. Charles, and Calvin “Burl” Joiner of South Elgin, Illinois.
Visitation will be held Thursday September 2, 2021, 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main Street, St Charles, IL 60174. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 3, 2021, at Yurs Funeral Home. Rev. Calvin Bolin officiating. Burial will be at Little Woods Cemetery St. Charles.
