- Memorial Service
Nikki Ann Ihnatiuk, age 72, of Pingree Grove, formerly of St. Charles was born into eternal life on Thursday, August 13, 2020, surrounded by her family.
She was born April 15, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois to Nick and Eleanor Masino.
In 1990, Nikki went back to college where she received her paralegal degree. Over the years she worked at law firms in Schaumburg and Chicago until she retired in late 2017. Nikki enjoyed vacationing with her family. One of her favorite places to visit was Disney World. In June of 2020, after 32 years, Nikki and Steve decided to downsize the home they had built for their young family. The greatest joy in Nikki’s life was the day she became a grandmother. She loved her four grandchildren beyond measure.
Nikki is survived by her husband of 52 years, Steve, two children, Kristen (Jason) White and Nick (Shannan) Ihnatiuk, four grandchildren, Ethan and Gabriella Ihnatiuk and Logan and Chloe White and many close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Wayne Koepple.
Private services are pending at Hosanna! Lutheran Church in St. Charles.
In lieu of flowers, Nikki requested memorials be made to the family for her grandchildren.

"For the past several years we the Unmuted Commuters have been part of her life as we traveled to Chicago, in the morning on the train. She was always peppy, ready to get to talk about our weekends and tell us more about how she enjoyed spending time with her family and grand children. Even joined us several times for wine Wednesday’s or other Birthday celebrations on the train with all the fixings. She was awesome and will be missed."
