Norman Huntley age 81 of St. Charles, passed away October 22, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born to Howard and Valore Huntley in Aurora, Illinois.
Norman received his bachelor and masters degrees from Northern Illinois University. He taught 6th grade at Wasco grade school, he taught and was principal at Munhall School, he also served as principal at Lincoln School and Fox Ridge School. He was a member of the St. Charles Library Board for 49 years, serving as president for over35 years.
He loved golf, gardening, birds, coin collecting and trains. Norman was an active member of The St. Charles Moose. He was active in girls and women’s softball, and made sure he was a part of his daughters’ sports teams.
He is survived by his wife Barbara, three daughters; Laura (Dean) Bieniak, Amy (James) Heilman, Leigh Ann Huntley (Deron Heath), four grandchildren; Keely, Leah, Chandler, Clay, three sisters; Harriet (Robert) Van Overmeiren, Nancy (Robert) Anderson, Donna (Daniel) Heimann, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 4-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at Yurs Funeral Home 405 E. Main Street, St. Charles, IL 60174. Funeral Services will be 10:30 Wednesday October 25, 2017, at Yurs Funeral Home, St. Charles, IL. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The St. Charles Public Library, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
