Patricia “Pat” Jane (Kimball) Kozik, 94, passed away March 19, 2026.

She is survived by her four children, Jack (Cathie) of Naperville, Molly (Jeff Horn) of North Aurora, Steve (Chie) of St. Charles, and Tom of St. Charles; five grandchildren, Liz Kozik, Mike (Liane) Kozik, Quinn (Carisah) Kozik, Emily (Gabriel) Hicks and Mary Horn; two great-grandchildren, Hattie Hicks and Baird Kozik.

Pat was born in Sycamore, IL and raised in Hampshire, IL, graduating High School there in 1949, and Northern Illinois University with a degree in Education in 1953. In 1957 she married John Kozik and moved with him to St. Charles.  They built their dream home in 1963 where they raised their children and lived the rest of their lives.

Pat was a devoted servant of God, a loving wife and mother, a believer in community service and the advancement of women’s rights.  She is very well known for her stoic “extra dry” Irish wit – with a point.

An artist at heart, Pat had a great love for sewing and fashion design, making clothes for four generations of her family over eight decades.  Professionally, Pat taught Home Economics at St. Charles High School, Oswego High School, and Batavia High School, until she earned her Masters in Counseling at NIU in 1968 and became a Guidance Counselor in Batavia. In 1984, Pat started her own business, Career Options, with an office in downtown St. Charles, serving her clientele with career counseling for all stages of life.

She was a strong believer in community, volunteering participation and leadership in the Delnor Hospital Auxiliary, St Patrick’s Church, American Association of University Women (Founding member of The Batavia-Geneva-St. Charles branch and past President), St. Charles Chamber of Commerce, Illinois Counseling Association, Illinois Association for Assessment in Counseling, Illinois Career Development Association, and the Illinois Counseling Association.  She was a 49 year cancer survivor. Pat was always active and engaged until her final days, encouraging all to “Just keep going”.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Cecilia Kimball; her siblings, Elizabeth Peterson and Mike Kimball; her husband of 63 years, John Kozik, and her granddaughter, Claire Kozik.

Visitation will be Friday, March 27^th from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at St. Patrick Crane Road Church 6N491 Crane Road St. Charles. Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 A.M. Burial will be at Prairie Cemetery, St. Charles. For further information please call Yurs Funeral Home
