Obituaries

Peggy C. Leidig (nee Hinchliffe), 75, passed away Monday, Feb. 13, 2023, with family by her side. She was born in Chicago on Oct. 25, 1947 to Marie and Clifford Hinchliffe. Peggy will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family and friends. She was so much to so many people: a loving mother, an adoring grandmother, devoted sister and compassionate friend. She was a selfless person who always put others before herself and was a constant source of support and encouragement for those around her, whether it be her family or a stranger. To know Peggy was to feel loved. Peg’s passion was her grandchildren, spoiling her “little paczkis” whenever she had the chance, and being there for her kids at a moments notice. She was also dedicated to her many friends, from the ones she grew up with in Chicago and Norridge, to the many friends she made while raising children in Northlake, Elmhurst and Bartlett. Peggy is survived by her children, Rick Jr. (Cheri), Anthony Sr., Meagan (Dario) Moreira and Amy (Kevin) Thomson; their father, Rick Sr.; her sister, Celeste; her grandchildren, Jack, Will, Sam, Ben, Abe, Sydney, AJ and Archie; many nieces, nephews and countless cousins and friends. She is preceded by her parents; her brother Butch; her sisters Patricia and Merrilyn; and longtime companion, Rich. Visitation will be from 10 am to 2 pm, Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023, at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main St. (corner of Route 64 and Route 25), St. Charles.
