Philip W. Klein, age 83, passed away peacefully at home on August 19, 2024, with his wife of 50 years, Kathi, by his side.

He was born on May 22, 1941 in Evanston, Illinois to Frank J. and Ethel W. Klein.

Phil graduated from the University of Illinois, Chicago, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Phil worked for 38 years for American Airlines at O’ Hare Airport, ultimately reporting to Dallas headquarters as Sr. Analyst, Airport Safety & Compliance. He loved working for the airlines and the travel benefits it provided him. His love of history was enhanced by his visits to Jerusalem, Rome and many other cities across the globe. He was involved in his sons’ Boy Scout activities, sports and taught CCD at the elementary school for several years. He was always ready to step in and help where needed

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons, Keith and Phil (Beth) Klein, two grandchildren, Emma Klein and Ben Klein, his sister, Merikay Olson, sister-in-law, Carol Klein and many fond nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank J. and Ethel (Winnie) Klein, his siblings Frank J. (Evelyn) Klein, Joan (Frank) Critelli, and Ronald Klein.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 22nd from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, (Corner of Rt. 64 and Rt. 25), St. Charles.  Funeral mass will be held 10:30 A.M., Friday, August 23rd at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 4N491 Crane Road, St. Charles.  Burial will be at Prairie Cemetery next to the church. In lieu of flowers, a donation would be appreciated to St.  Jude Children’s Hospital.
