Phillip Carl Riippi, age 42, passed on September 29th, 2024, surrounded by friends and family.
Phil was born in St. Charles. IL on April 23, 1982, to Richard Riippi and Mary Duewel Riippi. Phil was a 2001 Geneva High School graduate. He loved his job and coworkers, who became family at ComEd and was a member of Local Union 15.
He is survived by Brynn Buckley and their two children, Laken Maverick and Skylar Eisley; sister Julie (Mike) Platt of Montgomery, IL. Nephews Dillon, Derick and Dalton Platt; Aunts, Uncles, several cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Richard and mother Mary Riippi.
Phil knew how to command a room. With his bright smile and loud voice, he was hard to miss. He never turned down a chance to dance, sing, and make people laugh. He worked hard, loved hard, and was always there in times of need. He loved his kids, his sister, nephews, and friends more than anything.
He had a passion for airplanes, music, and family. To know Phil was to love Phil. He was one of a kind and will be missed beyond words.
Visitation will be held from 3-6 pm on Friday, October 4th at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street in St. Charles, IL. A Funeral Service will follow at 6:00 P.M. at Yurs Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 5pm on Saturday, October 5th, at Rays Evergreen Pub, 1400 W Main Street in St. Charles, IL.

"I don’t have the words to express my sympathy. I met Phil in middle school and he is like everyone will say the life of the party. He was a person that could always make you smile or laugh. I hope that is how he is remembered for that infectious laugh and spirit. I hope his babies get to remember the love and light he had for them. Way too young and way too soon."

"I knew and loved Phil from flight school. More than 20 years have gone by and I can still remember many days of good times, flying, and studying. Too many nights of staying up till dawn and enjoying college life in all it's glory. He was the only one from our class I kept in contact with. My heart is with your family."
