Regina Rosemarie Stantz, 86, died Tuesday, November 22, peacefully in her sleep at Arden Courts in Geneva, IL. She was greatly loved by her late husband, sons, grandsons and their families.

The daughter of Gerhard and Charlotte Katzer, Regina was born on January 2, 1936, in Breslau, Germany, and emigrated to Chicago with her family as a teenager. On October 17, 1959, she married Norman W. Stantz, at Mayfair Bible Church in Chicago.

Survived by sons Kevin (Juliet) and Keith (Hui); two grandsons, Daniel (Sabrina) and Steven (Sydnye); sister, Ingeborg, and dear nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her loving husband Norman and her sister Linda (Juergen) Spindler.

While raising their sons in Addison, IL, Regina attended night school to complete her education, obtaining a certificate in library technical assistance. After years as a homemaker, she worked until retirement as a library and learning center assistant at Salt Creek School District 48. She was active in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Addison while her boys were growing up.

Regina and Norm moved to St. Charles, IL, in 1990, where Regina was able to expand her love of gardening and create wonderful memories with her grandsons. She and Norm travelled the world in retirement, taking cruises and camping, often with friends from their beloved church, Hosanna Lutheran in St. Charles.

She also loved to sew, quilt, knit, cook, and read, as well as sing in the choir and volunteer at church. She will be remembered for her devotion to family and church, her love for her grandchildren, and the smiles and support she offered others.

Visitation and funeral services will be held at Hosanna Lutheran Church, 36W925 Red Gate Road, St. Charles, on Wednesday, November 30. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 A.M., funeral service will start at 11. Interment will be at Union Cemetery, St. Charles.
