Richard H. Balog, age 79, of St. Charles passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 20, 2021.

He was born December 8, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph and Mary Balog.

Mr. Balog is survived by his wife of 48 years, Wendy, a daughter, Stacy Balog-Myers, two sisters,  Marylyn (Gary) Sartin and Joan Sage and two brothers,  John and James Balog and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Richard was an attorney for forty-five years in Kane County Illinois. He attended John Marshall School of Law. A trial lawyer who specialized in Equestrian Law. He spent some time on the Illinois Racing Board in the 1990’s, racing was a true love of Richards.

A member of the Delnor Men’s Foundation, as well as a board member of the Norris Recreation Center. He was a host on his own TV Show “Legal Ease” amongst the many other outstanding achievements.

Richard was a kind and giving man. Over his career he did a lot of pro bono work for the Prairie State Legal Services. His true passion was his love of horses. He was admired by many, a very loving special man.

He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
