Richard A. Lobojko, 80, passed away Sunday, August 7, in his home. He was dearly loved by his wife, children, grandchildren, great-granddaughter and family.

The son of Alexander and Suzanne Lobojko, Richard was born on September 30, 1941, in Chicago. On July 18, 1964, he married Verna Kloster at St. Philomena Church in Chicago. He was drafted into the United States Army and served 2 years at Fort Sill in Oklahoma. After serving his country, he resumed his position at Peoples Energy from which he retired in 1996.

The consummate life of the party, Richard enjoyed retelling stories from his many fishing trips with the guys to Lake Wisconsin. Rich and Verna enjoyed many years of travelling together to destinations from Door County to the Dominican Republic. His quick-witted sense of humor and unconditional selflessness will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.

Richard is survived by his wife, Verna, of 58 years, son Michael, daughter Christine (Scott); four grandchildren – Rebecca (Jack), Jason, Brandon and Amanda; one great-granddaughter Adelaide, loving sister Sue, dear nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends, too many to name.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Visitation will be held August 15, 2022 from 4-8 P.M. at Yurs Funeral Home 405 E. Main St., St. Charles, IL 60174. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, August 16 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church 2900 E. Main Street, St. Charles, IL 60174, followed by interment at Union Cemetery in St. Charles.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans which he proudly and passionately supported for countless years.
