"Bob and I we go back to the old high school days at St Mel. I know Bob kept in contact with some St Mel Knights. I wish our paths had crossed. I know my younger sister went to nursing school at St Ann's at also worked there for a short period time. The two of them did cross paths.Bob was a smart, friendly class mate, a little nerdy but weren't we all. Rest in Peace my friend."

"As family and friends gather to celebrate the life of Robert Hartson, I will be joining you in a virtual sense. Robbie, as I always addressed him, has been my friend for almost 70 years. He is not gone, he has just gone on ahead to everlasting Life in Heaven awaiting our reunion in eternity. You will be missed by so many….especially by not the girl next door, but the girl from two doors down as you called me.A loving reflection of Robert Hartson:“ Robbie, you were the ‘Heart of Mayfield Avenue’ …You brought joy into the life of so many throughout the years. I don’t believe that I ever saw you without a smile on your face and a jovial belly laugh to share. As kids, when other boys wouldn’t let my brother, Johnny, play baseball on the four corners you would step up and let Johnny take your time at bat. This was major since Johnny was born with several physical handicaps and difficulties… but YOU treated him just like the other normal guys.Thank you, Robbie, for being my friend, being an integral part of our youthful years. You deserve to Rest in Peace."

Frank Grondy from Greensboro, NC
