Robert Edward Nordlund, 71, of Saint Charles, passed away peacefully at his home on October 23.

Robert, or Bob to most everyone who knew him, was born in Chicago on June 5, 1947, to Evelyn and Roy Nordlund, and was the youngest of three brothers.

He served in Vietnam before attending Northern Illinois University. At NIU he met the love of his life, Catherine Prokop, and they were married in September 1976.  The couple had a daughter, Kristen, in 1985.

Bob owned his own company, CNR Enterprises, for 30 years and took great pride and joy in the work he did.

He was a remarkable and loving son, brother, husband, father, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn and Roy. He is survived by his wife Catherine; daughter Kristen; and brothers Wayne and Gary and a loving family.

Visitation will be on Monday, October 29 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E Main St, St. Charles. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bob’s honor may be directed to the Wounded Warrior’s Project. For further information, please call the funeral home at (630) 584-0060.
