Robert Keith Westerlund age 73, of St. Charles, Illinois passed away January 13, 2022.
Bob was born in Chicago at Ravenswood Hospital. He lived in Lombard, Roselle and Elgin as a boy.
Bob was an Army Veteran being drafted after his marriage to his bride. He served his tour of duty in Baumholder Germany. Bob worked for 45 years as an ironworker out of local 393 Aurora. In 1975 he lost the sight in his left eye due to a freak accident but it never slowed him down one iota. Bob loved to camp, ride ATV’s and his snowmobile. He was a terrific bowler with two 300 perfect games to his credit. He also liked to golf but he really wasn’t very good, LOL. Bob was a wonderful husband, father and provider. He instilled his hard working ethic in his children.
He is survived by his wife Karen of 51 years, father to Chad Alan (Jennifer), Annie Marie (Damien), grandfather to Matt, Nick, Ryan and Blake.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bob’s memory to Wounded Warriors.
A Memorial Visitation will be 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Sunday, January 16, 2022, at Yurs Funeral Home 405 E. Main Street, St. Charles, Illinois 60174.

"Sending warm thoughts and imagined hugs over the miles. We will all miss Bob but he's probably already setting up a cloud bowling alley with brother John."
Bob Paluch from St Charles, IL
"Met Bob many moons ago. Karen and Dee were co-workers and still make time to get together when possible. Of course all that has happened over the last few years has made getting together very difficult. Bless you Karen for making Bob's last years bearable. I'm a pain and Bob like me could be a handful. We're about same age US Army same long term bride's. He was one of the good guys and never had a discouraged word. I'm looking forward to him giving me some bowling lessons. Adios My Friend."
