Rosemary Friel nee Sheahan long time resident of Arrington Heights and Grayslake, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Friday February 23, 2018. She was born in Chicago, IL to Kathrine (Maloney) and Walter Sheahan. She married Thomas F. Friel on February 23, 1952 in Chicago. Rosemary was a graduate of Notre Dame High School for girls in Chicago and excelled on the basket ball court. “Rose” was also well known for her caring manner, razor sharp wit and dry sense of humor. She was quick to laugh and quicker to sing any Irish song as well as “Second Hand Rose”. She made a living as a Homemaker, and Executive Secretary.
She is survived by her children Theresa (Randy) Hayes, Martin Friel, Frank Friel, Thomas (Kelly) Friel and Kathlyn (Dennis) Cullen. She will also be remembered by her grandchildren Martin (Susie) Hayes, Molly Hayes, Martin (Jena) Friel, Thomas Friel, Patrick (Lauren) Friel, Mary Friel, Benjamin Cullen, Samuel (Trudy) Cullen, Joseph (Zoe) Cullen, Jack Cullen, Catherine Cullen and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 9-11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Yurs Funeral Home 405 E. Main Street, St. Charles, Illinois 60174. Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 11:00 A.M. at Yurs Funeral Home. Burial will be at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine, Illinois.
