Roy Christensen, 79, died on June 21, 2022, with his loving wife by his side. He was greatly loved by his wife, children, grandchildren, and their families and friends
The son of Clifford and Lucille Christensen. Roy was born on July 4, 1942, in Oconto Falls, Wisconsin. On October 20, 1962, Roy married Helene Kunaschk.
A few months after graduating from high school, Roy enlisted in the Navy. After the Navy, Roy worked for Motorola, then Automatic Electric, then finally making way to IBM.
In 1968, after being discharged from the Navy, Roy and Helene started on a new journey. They lived in Addison for a little over a year, then they bought a house in Lombard. They stayed there till 1978 and then moved to St. Charles.
Roy was a big reader. He enjoyed reading history books, the od classics. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and being outside as much as could.
Survivors include his wife Helene Christensen, two daughters, Lisa Manewal and Karrie Christensen, four grandchildren, Allie (Scott) Moebius, Eric (Angela) Rico, Joe Rico, and Mathew (Cheyenne) Manewal, Four great grandchildren, two brothers, Larry (Joyce) Christensen and Jeff (Sue) Christensen, his sister Jane (Bill) Steck, Sister-in-law Christine Christensen, and many nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Clifford and Lucille Christensen, two brothers, Marvin Christensen and Melvin Christensen, and his son-in-law Dennis Manewal.
Visitation for Roy will be held on June 30, 2022, from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. with services to follow at 11:00 A.M. at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, St. Charles, Illinois. 630-584-0060. A luncheon will be held after the service at the St. Charles Moose Lodge, 2250 Lincoln Hwy, St. Charles, Illinois.
