Salvatore Andreacchi, age 80, passed away at his Elgin, Il home on Saturday, June 8, 2024. Salvatore was born in Calabria, Italy, and immigrated to the United States in 1959. His strong work ethic, creative vision, and resilient nature made him a successful owner of multiple companies. He loved his work and the friendships he developed and could only bring himself to semi-retire in recent years.
Salvatore was also an avid gardener cultivating thousands of pounds of vegetables with his unconventional gardening methods. The fruits of his labor were shared with family, friends, and the many deer and rabbits that he could never keep out of his gardens despite his creative efforts to do so.
Salvatore’s greatest joy in life was his family. He loved to gather around the kitchen table with a home-cooked meal and a bottle (or two) of wine. Much laughter, wisdom, and love were always shared. He was generous in every way and would not hesitate to come to the aid of anyone in need. His family and everyone who knew him has lost a treasure of wisdom, goodness, and humanity.
Salvatore is survived by his wife Emma Andreacchi, his children; Annamarie Schopen (David), Nicolette Sponburgh (Keith), and John Andreacchi (Elissa), his grandchildren; Amber, Emma, Joseph, Gabriel, Ava, and great grandchildren; Layla, Danika, and Veronika, his siblings; Domenic Andreacchi (Laura), Elisa Bertucci (Vito), Antoinetta Bertucci (Antonio), sister in law Linda Laducca (Dave), his nieces and nephews; John (Christina), Manella (Tomas), Salvatore (Valeria), Annamaria (Davide), Giovanni, Elisa (Bruno), Vito (Stella), Giovanni (Amalia), and many great nieces and nephews.
Salvatore was proceeded in death by his parents Giovanni Andreacchi and Annamaria Vitro, and an infant sister.
Visitation will be 9:00 A.M to 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Yurs Funeral Home 405 E. Main Street, St. Charles, Illinois 60174. A Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 11:00 A.M. at Yurs Funeral Home. Burial will be at Prairie Cemetery, on Crane Road in St. Charles Township.
