Sharon Ann Gault, 75, died Tuesday, June 22, 2021.  Sharon was born on September 8, 1945, in Akron, Ohio, the only child of Howard and Elinor Huff.  She graduated from Arlington Heights, Illinois High School in 1963 and attended Southern Illinois University, Carbondale where she met Robert, her husband of 53 years.

Bob and Sharon were married June 15, 1968 in Carbondale, Illinois.  Bob’s career with General Motors took Sharon to homes in five different states, finally settling in Wayne, Illinois in 1986.  Sharon completed her BS degree in Education at Georgia College, Milledgeville, Ga.  She then completed her Master’s degree in Education at Aurora University in 2001.  For 35 years Sharon taught various grades and subjects in four different locales.  She concluded her education career in 2013 as an 8th grade US History teacher at Tefft Middle School in Streamwood, Illinois.  Sharon developed an intense interest in US History and the US Constitution.

After retirement, Sharon and Bob traveled extensively mostly on cruise ships throughout the Caribbean, South Pacific, Mediterranean and Baltic Seas, and many different river cruises.  Many cruises had been planned over the next couple of years which will not be taken.

Sharon was a vivacious, caring, and nurturing woman.  She cared deeply for children, horses, cats, and dogs. She mentored many young persons over the course of her life.  She was active in many horse oriented activities, fun outings with her Red Hat group, and her Mermaid water aerobics girlfriends.

Survivors include her husband, Robert, son Brian (Robin), three granddaughters, Sarah, Larissa, Katilynn, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 9-11 AM, with services at 11 AM on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main Street, St. Charles, Illinois with Rev. Nancy Fraley officiating.  Interment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Illinois on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 10:30 AM.
