It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sidney A. Edgar, who departed this life on May 31, 2026, at the age of ninety-five, surrounded by her loving family in Sugar Grove, Illinois.
Sidney was born on February 18, 1931, in Mosheim, Tennessee to P. Alexander and Beulah M. Honeycutt. She was a cherished Mother and Grandmother, known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit.
Sidney was enthusiastic about sewing and cross stitching as she dedicated much of her time to these activities.
Sidney is preceded in death by her husband, Frederick T. Edgar; son, Lawrence D. Edgar; daughter, Mary E. Bonier; and granddaughter, Mitzi A. Bonier; 8 brothers and 4 sisters.
She is survived by Gerald Edgar of UT, Roger Edgar of AZ, Phyllis (Alex) Wallace of AZ, Katherine Edgar of IL, Janet (Tom) Friedrich of IL, 20 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 32 great-great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-great grandchild, Francis Vermillion of OH, and many other loving family members and friends. She will be missed by all who know and love her.
A graveside service will take place privately. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in honor of Sidney.
May Sidney rest in peace, forever remembered in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.
