Obituaries

Sidney J. Tiemann age 90, of Dundee, Illinois passed away January 27, 2022. He was born to Frank and Rose Tiemann in Royalton, Minnesota.

After serving his country in the United States Air Force, Sid began his flying career with Pan Am Airlines as a commercial pilot. He then joined United Airlines in 1960 for the remainder of his 50 + year flying career. He was a man of many talents and interests including; photography, fencing, skiing, scuba diving, canoeing, and bike riding.

He is survived by his loving wife Louise, three daughters; Elizabeth (David) Pickner, Diana (Stephen) O’Dell, Elaine Tiemann, son James (Laurie Shumake) Tiemann, five grandchildren; Dr. Kenneth (Stacey) O’Dell, Bradley O’Dell, Emily Pickner, Michael Pickner, Andrew Tiemann, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister Donna (Edward) Mark, and brother Robert Tiemann.

Visitation will be 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main Street, St. Charles, Illinois 60174. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 845 W. Main Street, West Dundee, IL 60118. Contributions may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation.
