Obituaries

Steven Michael Elliott Anderson was born on May 7, 1986, to Lynette Marie (Wood) Anderson and John Arthur Anderson. He grew up in St. Charles, IL, graduating from St. Charles East High School in 2004. He graduated from Augustana College in 2008, the alma mater of his father and uncles. 

He enjoyed talking to and spending time with his niece and nephews as well as engaging in lively conversations about history, philosophy, and sports. 

After a long struggle, on August 22, 2026, Steven succumbed to the disease of alcoholism and passed away peacefully, surrounded by people who love him. Steven chose to be an organ donor, and his final gift was sending his heart and kidneys to those waiting for a renewed chance at life. 

He is survived by his parents Lynette and John Arthur Anderson, sisters Andrea (Justin) Paris, Joni (Dean) Meyers and Courtney M Anderson, as well as niece Sloane, nephews Bryce, Grayson and Samson, Grandfather Russell Wood and a close-knit family of aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents Joe K. and Merle Marie Anderson, Grandmother Betty Wood and Uncle Charles Anderson. 

Services will be held at Yurs Funeral Home in St. Charles with visitation on Tuesday, August 25th from 4-8pm and funeral on Wednesday, August 26th at 10am followed immediately by burial at Union Cemetery. The family will then host a luncheon at Hosanna! Lutheran Church.
