Obituaries

Susan K. Roberts, 73, of Rolling Meadows passed away, Sunday, July 19, 2020.

Sue was prededed in her death by her parents,  Edna (Siebenmann) Scherer, her husband, Patrick S. Roberts, her sister in law, Elizabeth (Mielke) Scherer and her brother in law Charles E. Dover.

She is survived by her brother Robert Scherer, her sister, Gail Dover, her brother Gary Scherer (Julie), many nieces and nephews; Cindy (Scherer) Carr (Jim), Ron Scherer, Deborah (Dover) Layne ( Steve), Gregory Dover, Sandra (Dover) Gum (Tory) and Jasper Scherer, and many great nieces and nephews., Kendra (Carr) Chandra (Praveen), Katie (Carr) Rubendall (Todd). Andrew Carr,  Grayson Layne, Victoria Layne, Jackson Layne, Candance Layne, Alexa (Gum) Adams (Josh), Lauren (Gum) Bludworth (Cole), Jordon Gum, Abigail Gum  and Shawna Gum, And a great great niece and nephew, Amand, Chandra and Veera Chandra.

Sue had many interests; She loved reading, bowling, gardening, golfing, shopping, playing games, playing cards, spending time with her family and friends and her beloved dogs. They were her family. Most of  all Sue was a teacher. She gave 100 percent to her chosen profession and was respected by her students, their parents and her colleagues.

A small private celebration of life will be held.  We ask that in lieu of flowers, you deliver hope by “paying it forward” in Sue’s memory to someone in need of  encouragement , kindness and support.
