Susan Jane Henry, affectionately known by her family as “Susie,” and golf friends as “Hee-Haw Henry,” passed away peacefully at home in St. Charles, IL, on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. Born on October 12, 1964, in Naperville, IL, Susie was a trailblazer in both her personal and professional lives.

From a young age growing up in Naperville, Sue displayed an extraordinary talent and passion for sports. Whether skateboarding, snowboarding, golfing, or playing basketball and softball, she excelled in every athletic pursuit, earning admiration as a fierce competitor. Her remarkable achievements included landing a hole-in-one at Medinah Country Club, earning MVP status with the all-male Naperville Little League team, winning “Outstanding Female Athlete of Year” at Wheaton Warrenville High School. More recently, Sue was The Hawk Country Club’s 2022 Ladies Club Champion, and integral to The Hawk Ladies District Team, leading them to victory two years in a row with her single-digit handicap.

Sue’s professional career was distinguished by her 36 years at what is now Johnson & Johnson (formerly Depuy), where she rose to prominence as a leading orthopedic sales representative, succeeding as one of the first female joint reconstruction sales representatives with DePuy nationwide. Her expertise, charisma, and engaging personality earned her the respect of orthopedic surgeons throughout the Chicago suburbs and downstate Illinois. Sue’s legacy in the field is carried on through the talented reps she mentored and trained.

In addition to her accomplishments in orthopedic sales, Sue, along with partner Phoebe Falese, made a significant impact in the community through her venture, “Mixology,” a full-service salon, art gallery, and event space, where she served as Owner and Director of Operations. Her skills and vision made a lasting mark on St. Charles.

Sue is survived by her dear mother, Frances Henry, devoted daughters, Sophia Falese-Henry and Mia Falese-Henry, and adoring fur babies, Xena, ZuZu and Bella. She is survived by her siblings: Dennis A. Henry (Cheryl) of Roscoe, IL, Carol Hoffman (Russ) of Osprey FL, Leslie King (Robert) of Naperville IL, Alyson Piccirilli (Joe) of Chicago IL, and Dana Henry (Michelle) of Urbandale IA. She was adored by her eight nieces and nephews: Jennifer Micale (Jeff Goodmark), Melissa Walters (Wilson), Elizabeth Lopez (Ray), Mike King (Tiffany), Tom King (Zoe), Eleanor Henry (fiancé, Hank), Carolyn Henry, and Claire Pitcchirilli, as well as her eight great-nieces and great-nephews: Sofia, Isabella, Francesca (Sam), Evan, Ethan, Iva, Leila, and Max.

Sue was preceded in death by her father, Allison R. Henry (1928-2007).

Sue will be remembered for her sidesplitting sense of humor, as a master of golf, lover of cats, sports car enthusiast, and a formidable force with an indomitable spirit. Her legacy of excellence, both in her career and her personal life, will continue to inspire all who knew her.

There will be a visitation from 10:30-11:30am, and Celebration of Life service from 11:30am-12:30pm, on Sunday, Sept. 8th, at Yurs Funeral Home in St. Charles. Following services, there will be an open house reception and luncheon from 1-4pm, at The Hawk Country Club in St. Charles. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to: The Anderson Humane Animal Shelter https://ahconnects.org/.

"“Words fall flat when I try to describe how awesome Sue was. There is a saying that people may forget what you say and people may forget what you do, but they will never forget how you make them feel! That was Sue. She made everyone feel like the most important person in the room. I will miss her dearly, and my heart breaks for her beautiful mom, daughters and family.” Condolences."

"This was so incredibly heartbreaking to hear. Sue had such a special place in my heart. I’m at a loss of how to describe the friendship that I formed with her through our orthopedic years. There’s many out there who understand those were the best years as were the friendships we formed. The memories and experiences I had with her will always make me smile. She was a beautiful and special person. It saddens me to know she’s no longer with us. God bless her and her family."

Loretta Hughes from St. Louis , MO

"So sorry to hear about Sue’s passing. While working at Edward hospital we’d bump into each other in the locker room and share thoughts about our girls and family and commiserate. She was a warm person and someone who put people at ease. May her soul RIP🙏🏽"

Rickey Werner from Fond Du Lac, WI

"Sue was an effervescent soul, who touched everyone’s heart in a positive way so you felt the love and caring she exuded. May her girls be reminded in many ways how she deeply she loved them. Our hearts are broken that she is no longer with us, but knowing she is smiling down upon us."

Judy Fenton from Warsaw, IN

"It’s truly heartbreaking to hear that Sue has passed. I met her years ago working together at DePuy. Sue had a way of making you feel special. It’s hard to explain but if you knew her you know what I mean. Just being around her made you happy. She’d belly laugh at my silly jokes and we saw eye to eye on many things especially politics. Such a fun and loving person. I always called her Susie Q. My heart goes out to her family."
