Daniel (Dan) Piccinini, 67, of New York City passed away on September 2, 2022, after a short but hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer. Dan was born to the late Basilio and Giovanna Piccinini on June 7, 1955, in St. Charles, IL. He received a BA from Miami of Ohio University and a law degree from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, MO. His first job as an attorney was with Legal Aid of Missouri, representing children in family court. He became Senior Law Editor for Commerce Clearing House (CCH) in Chicago and earned an MBA in Marketing/Finance from Northwestern University.
Dan moved with the company to New York. He remained with CCH, which became Wolters Kluwer after a merger, until he retired, serving in a variety of senior market research and strategy roles. After retirement, he worked part time as a translator of French and Italian documents into English. He participated in many volunteer organizations throughout his life, particularly during the AIDS crisis, serving as a buddy.
Nothing made Dan happier than spending time with his family, friends, and dogs, gardening, reading, and entertaining at his beloved lakehouse in Shohola, PA. He traveled the world and enjoyed learning about the history and culture of many countries. He studied and worked in France and Germany. Dan is survived by his partner of 33 years, Daryl Brown; his twin sons, Alexander and Michael; and his brother, Alessandro Piccinini.
