It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tammy Sue Komparda, nee Stinson, 65, of Saint Charles, Illinois on May 14, 2025, after a long, courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
Tammy met the love of her life, husband, and soulmate, Bill, in 2001. They were married for 22 years, until Bill’s passing on December 20, 2024.
Tammy will be remembered for being a great cook, having prepared meals for holidays, cook-outs, or a cozy dinner for two.
Tammy was known for her kindness, sense of humor, and generous spirit. She was a wonderful friend to many. All who knew her will miss her greatly.
Tammy was preceded in death by her husband, Bill (2024); parents, Charles (2004) and Evelyn (2019) Schmid; sister, Joy Schmid (1974); brother, Harold Schmid (2024); in-laws, Stanley (2021) and Bernice (1995) Komparda, as well as their fur-babies, Barney, Rusty, Butch, Timmy, and Lucky, whom they loved so much.
Survived by her sisters-in-law, Mary Komparda and Dianne Costanzo of Lake Geneva, WI; nephew Jason (Tatiane) Schmid, great nieces, Emma, Kiara, Milena, and Liliane Schmid of Idaho Falls, ID.
Graveside services to be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 11am, at Arlington Cemetery, 401 East Lake Street, Elmhurst, IL. "Tammy and my wife met at DelNor hospital fitness center in Geneva in 2017 where they worked out together and became really great friends the rest of their wives. Even during the pandemic years when most facilities were closed, not open to the public, Tammy would come to our house once a week…..have a lunch together with my wife that I would serve to them….sitting in the shade in our front yard at each end of a long six foot table to ensure that they would not come to close to each other because of the pandemic scare…..having a glass of wine for starters and then the lunch my wife and I would have prepared earlier. They would sit there….six feet apart enjoy dinner and discussing their experiences together for several hours. We have a large piece of property in unincorporated Kane county several miles west of Elgin which provides plenty of privacy for them. After the pandemic they would get together for lunch somewhere in St Charles / Geneva area until my wife had a stroke and passed away in July 2022. It was my wife’s wish that I still keep in contact with Tammy…..remembering her birthday, Xmas cards, etc. My wife and I were twenty years older than Tammy. Because of the pandemic and my wife’s health, I never got to meet Tammy’s husband Bill. Was wondering why some of my text messages lately to Tammy was not getting a reply. Started to check the internet and just found her obituary….May 2026. I have to make it my mission to visit Tammy grave soon…. I know it’s what my wife would want me to do. I miss them both."
