Theodore Gordon Gargantiel, 64, of Lake Summerset, Illinois, passed away on May 19th, 2025. Ted, as everyone knew him, was born in Oak Park, in 1960 to Serafin and Janice Gargantiel. Ted graduated from Valley Lutheran High School in St. Charles. He worked for the Illinois Department of Corrections for 25 years before retiring at the age of 51. Since retirement, Ted enjoyed spending time on the lake, playing pickleball, bocce, and golf. But his favorite activity was spending time with his family.
Ted met the love of his life, Joan (Mish) at the age of 16 while working together at Sears in St. Charles. They married on May 3rd, 1986, in Dundee and celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary this year.
Ted and Joan had two Daughters Amanda Gargantiel and Meghan Proffitt (Robert). Teds favorite title in life was “Grampy” to four wonderful grandchildren, Morgan, Emma, Jackson, and Nolan.
Ted will always be remembered for his warm heart, his strength, and his unwavering dedication to his family and friends.
Ted was preceded in death by his Father Serafin. He is survived by his Wife Joan, Daughters Amanda Gargantiel and Meghan Proffitt (Robert), Grandchildren Morgan Nichols, Jackson Nichols, Emma Proffitt, Nolan Proffitt, Mother Janice, Sisters Cathy Greene (Andre) and Christina Galvin (Joseph).
