Theresa Marie Wiener, 59, of Carpentersville passed away peacefully October 23, 2025. She exemplified courage, determination and intellect throughout her 18-month journey with leukemia.

Theresa was the beloved daughter of Ed and Caroline Wiener, loving sister of Christine (Mark), Michele (Kevin) and Carolyn, cherished aunt of Danielle (Ben), Anne (Zach), Renee, Elaine, James and Owen, and the dearest great-aunt of Evelyn, Hayden, Maeve and Nora.

Theresa attended St. Charles East High School and the University of Illinois. She went on to enjoy a rewarding career in printing and publishing at Rigby, Scott Foresman and The American Academy of Pediatrics, where she dedicated most of her career and was regarded as an important member of the AAP family. Theresa not only applied her professional skills and smarts, but her quick wit and kind spirit to her work as well.

Theresa was a music aficionado and record collector. When it came to music trivia, no one stood a chance. She was a foodie who appreciated great meals shared with friends. Notably, some of her favorite days were spent with friends or family browsing art and craft fairs and hunting for unique art and handmade jewelry to add to her collection.

Of her many collections, the most significant was her friends. She amassed this collection through every stage of her life. She kept and cared for each of these special relationships. Conversations and time spent with friends were truly treasured. She listened well, she never judged. She held her friends as close to her as family, and she was grateful for each of them.

Among Theresa’s greatest joys was her place as the proud big sis of the four Wiener sisters and the most loving “Aunt Toukie” to her nieces and nephews. She never missed a holiday, special occasion or celebration and delighted in video recording and narrating the family chaos. Her sense of humor, patience and love will be dearly missed.

Theresa’s presence in our lives was a gift we will always treasure. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Riverside Receptions 35 North River Lane, Geneva, IL from 12 Noon until the time of Memorial Service at 1:00 PM. Luncheon and remembrance to immediately follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a cause Theresa felt worthy: NMDP (National Marrow Donor Program) or Metropolitan Family Services.
